Introduction
Obatosin Ogunkeye is a founding partner of Allan & Ogunkeye, and heads the firm’s dispute resolution practice. His legal career, spanning over five decades since 1975, has been marked by significant contributions to Nigerian jurisprudence. He co-founded the firm with Marlies Allan in 1982, and since then, he has been instrumental in shaping legal precedents. Notably, he obtained the first Anton Piller order in a copyright infringement action in Nigeria and pioneered the application for class injunctions in intellectual property infringement actions, allowing for nationwide enforcement against unidentified infringers. He further advanced legal practice by establishing claims for the tort of unlawful interference in business interests, empowering local businesses against parallel importers.
Obatosin Ogunkeye is known for his innovative approach to legal problem-solving, encouraging lawyers within the firm to explore unconventional solutions when traditional methods are insufficient.
